Letters of recommendation may be required for university or scholarship applications and even for some employment. If you would like to request a letter of recommendation from a teacher, school counselor or staff member please complete the following brag packet. If you bring it to your school counselor they can make a copy for you and keep a copy in your file in case you need to access it again.
How to ask for a letter of recommendation:
Pick an individual that knows you well and can speak to your abilities (as it may pertain to your college, scholarship or job application).
Ask the individual in person if they would be willing and have the time to complete a letter of recommendation. Always give the recommender at least 2-3 weeks notice so that they have the time to write a well thought out recommendation.
Be sure to notify the recommender of the deadline and follow up with a friendly reminder the week before it is due.
If the recommender needs to mail the recommendation, please provide an addressed envelope with postage affixed.
You can print a copy of the brag packet below or pick up a copy in the Guidance office.
