HEBI rovides modular robotic building blocks called modules that let you build and program custom robotic systems. HEBI modules are ethernet-enabled devices connected to host computers via standard Ethernet. These modules include actuators to provide physical motion. The X-Series Actuators are 'smart' series-elastic actuators that integrate a brushless motor, geartrain, spring, encoders, and control electronics. These actuators are designed to function as full-featured robotic components and enable the simultaneous control of position, velocity, and torque. Each actuator also has a wide range of integrated sensors (e.g., IMU).
HEBI also provides software tools and APIs (ROS/C++/Python/Matlab) to program and control the robotic system created from these physical components.
