Mr.Maltais came in to teach us about coding and show us how to use our codable mice! We had so much fun!
Students predicted what would happen when we added water to a plate of skittles.
We started with 6 cups with 3 being plain water and 3 having the primary colours; red, yellow and blue. We predicted what would happen over time when we had paper towel absorbing water from the cups on either side. They all correctly predicted that it would make the secondary colours!
Using milk, food colouring and soap, students created a galazy in milk on a plate! They got to see how the soap pushed the fat in the milk out of the way so the dye could rush in and swirl around.
Students wrote down the instructions for how to create a fruit kabob in the colour order of the rainbow. We then followed their instructions, ate it up and wrote down our thoughts!
This week we created bridges and wrote about our experience. Students got 15 minutes to use straws, tape and popsicle sticks to build a bridge that could hold a cup. They had to work together as a team to create a plan and build it together! We then created a story plan and then used the story plan to write a personal narrative which many of you got to read at student lead conferences.
