The letters of the week were s and t. The kiddos can now read words like at and sat. We are talking about mapping letters and sounds so that we can turn them into words!
International Dot Day is celebrated on Sept.15 every year! It is a day that celebrates creativity and making your mark. And it all starts with a simple dot! Peter H. Reynolds' book is the basis for the day and a great jumping off point for creativity!

Speaking of dots, we got to use dice shakers this week! Children are learning to subitize, which means recognizing familiar dot formations of numbers at a glance without counting them. We had fun shaking our shakers then saying the numbers on our dice super quickly. Then we got to team up with our desk partners to compare numbers, using terms like greater and less than.
