Great Grandpa LOVED all of the beautiful postcards made by 1A students. He resides at the Capital Care Kipnes Centre for Veterans, and there were many smiles as postcards were delivered to his friends.
Students have been buiding their subitizing skills. Subitizing is the ability to look at a small set of objects and instantly know how many there are without counting them.
Learners practiced their subitizing skills by playing the game Back & Forth

To strengthen number recognition to 20, learners played a fun game of Mystery Number. In partners, learners took turns choosing the Mystery Number. The partner had to find the number, cross it off, and record it in the Mystery Number Box.
To celebrate our 30th Day of School, students created a head band decorated with 30 stickers!
Students were introduced to Roll and Reads this week. Roll and Reads are fun way to practise decoding skills and build fluency.
