SAMI TRIBE
Reindeer herding was the base of the Sami economy until recently. Even though the Sami hunted reindeer from the early times and kept them in small numbers, nomadism with huge herds began only a few centuries ago.
The reindeer-herding Sami people lived in either tents or turf huts and migrated with their herds in units of families while supporting their diet by hunting and fishing.
