1. The published articles must be completed during the period of doctoral studies. Furthermore, the publication should be related to the student’s dissertation research.

2. Graduate students must be the first author, and papers are published under the name of the Institute of Clinical Medicine as the first priority.

3. One of the advisors must be the corresponding author.

4. Papers must meet the following criterias (point 5 and 6 based on the duration of study in our institute): more than one or two original articles, or one original article plus a review article regarding your dissertation research (short communications, case reports, meeting/conferences reports or supplements are not allowed).

5. If the student have studied for more than three years:

1)、One paper has been published, or has been accepted but not yet published, in SCI academic journals ( Impact Factor 5.0 or higher) or top 10% of subspecial journals ranking. It must be an original article. The student should take at least 2 times of progress reports.

2)、Two papers have been published, or has been accepted but not yet published, in SCI academic journals whole-ranked 2000 or higher or top 30% of subspecial journals ranking. At least one of the papers must be the original article. The student should take at least 2 times of progress reports.

3) If Two papers are co-first authors, at least one paper must be a single first author, and at least one of the two papers has been published, or has been accepted but not yet published, in SCI academic journals ( Impact Factor 5.0 or higher) or top 10% of subspecial journals ranking. The other paper is in SCI academic journals whole-ranked 2000 or higher or top 30% of subspecial journals ranking.

6. If the student wish to finish the program less than three years:

1)、 One paper has been published, or has been accepted but not yet published, in SCI academic journals ( Impact Factor 10.0 or higher) or top 5% of subspecial journals ranking. It must be an original article. The student should take at least 1 time of progress report.

2)、 One paper has been published, or has been accepted but not yet published, in SCI academic journals ( Impact Factor 5.0 or higher) or top 10% of subspecial journals ranking, with another paper has been published, or has been accepted but not yet published, in SCI academic journals whole-ranked 2000 or higher or top 30% of subspecial journals ranking. At least one of the papers must be the original article. The student should take at least 1 time of progress report.

3) If Two papers are co-first authors, co-first author paper has been published, or has been accepted but not yet published, in SCI academic journals ( Impact Factor 5.0 or higher) or top 10% of subspecial journals ranking. The other paper must be a single first author, is in SCI academic journals ( Impact Factor 5.0 or higher) or 1st of subspecial journals ranking.

7. Affiliation should be cited as following format:

Institute of Clinical Medicine, College of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan.

8. Sixth grade students (including those above) in the Ph.D. program have already published their thesis, but the impact has not yet reached the required standards, they can apply for a degree examination with the approval of the " Ph.D. thesis committee".

9. When the degree examination is held, Verification of the originality of Thesis should be submitted for the examination committee’s reference.
