Progress Reports

After Ph.D. candidates pass the proposal exam, the progress report is required to monitor their progress, and to help supervisor(s) and thesis proposal committee to evaluate their work and direction.

  • Principles:

1. At least 2 progress reports before the Degree examination.

2. Students must complete the first progress report within six months after passing the Thesis Proposal Exam.

3. Progress reports shall be held one time every 6 months to one year.

4. A degree examination must be held within half a year after completing the last progress report. If not, one more progress report shall be held.

5. Failed to complete the progress report as scheduled, the Academic Advisory Committee and thesis Advisor will convene a meeting to discuss.

  • Timing & Process

1. Student has to submit application one month before Doctoral Progress Reports.

2. The written proposal must be submitted to all committee members and the administration office at least one week prior to the presentation.

  • Evaluation

thesis proposal committee will evaluate your progress and makes the decision to either:

(1)Approve your continued enrolment

(2)Approve your continued enrolment under certain conditions (e.g., meeting certain milestones by certain dates)

(3)Discontinue your candidature

The evaluation form must be returned to the administration office immediately after the exam.
