Forming the connection between old photos and modern life
Cultural heritage is the legacy of cultural resources and intangible attributes of a group or society that is inherited from past generations. Not all legacies of past generations are "heritage", rather heritage is a product of selection by society. Cultural heritage is not just a set of cultural objects or traditions from the past. It is also the result of a selection process: a process of memory and oblivion that characterizes every human society in choosing both cultural and political reasons.
Cultural heritage includes tangible culture (such as buildings, monuments, landscapes, books, works of art, and artifacts), intangible culture (such as folklore, traditions, language, and knowledge), and natural heritage (including culturally significant landscapes, and biodiversity).
Legal protection of cultural property comprises a number of international agreements and national laws. United Nations, UNESCO, and Blue Shield International deal with the protection of cultural heritage. This also applies to the integration of United Nations peacekeeping.
Discussing strong and stimulating elements
Workshop with Ahma #1!
Workshop with Ahma #2!
Visiting Cultural Heritage will make us know more about the world. How much the world changed in the past years and we can learn about the history of the heritage.
Visiting a tangible Cultural Heritage will make us find out experiences and places in the past that we can no longer feel now. To feel the experience of living in the past, so we went to Fossils Museum. By going there, We can know about the animals that lived in the past ( no longer exist) and their history them. After knowing a tangible one, we also want to know the intangible one. So We want to ask the elders about their lives, we created a suitcase of memories consisting of stimulation cards with pictures and questions that will make the elders remember the events when they were young. In order not to be boring and look realistic, we also made buildings, fields, etc. with clay so it is easier for the elders to remember their memories.

The ones we love
For stimulation cards, we decided to focus on elements that will trigger feelings of nostalgia, Thus, most of the photos we decided to use were mainly of work and play. Our group felt that the emotions when engaging in either of these activities are the purest. We recounted the time when Ahma told us about the daily struggle she had faced while working. Though it was abundant in difficult moments, there was still some joy to be found within the job. They recounted many things when elements that were introduced to them were related to either the struggles they faced while growing up or the joyful moments they had when playing. Thus, we realized… To truly connect to the older generation, we have found ways to share their struggles and happy moments with them. This is the best way to break the ice between us.
