HOWEVER......my favorite

is TEACHING ART !!

This is my 28th year teaching within the Greenville County School District. I am the Team 1 Art Teacher Monday through Friday. I attended Furman University from 1983-1987 with a major in Fine Arts/Art Education. I hold graduate hours in Art Therapy and truly believe Art is good for us !!  I am passionate about teaching art, watching students develop their own style and giving them opportunities to develop skills that will give them confidence in many subject areas.

I am blessed with twin sons who graduated college. One son is in the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant, my other son is an RN . I am so proud. My husband is a retired science teacher. I love animals and have 3 cats.

My Personal Mission Statement: My goal is to excite every child to want to create art. I wish to instill a passion for making art, exploring different supplies and enjoying art ! I want students to produce creations from their own mind and trust their decisions. I hope to motivate and educate children about the wonderful world of art and carry their love for art beyond their years in school.

Our Mission

The mission of Plain Elementary School is to prepare students to become 21st Century learners and responsible, productive citizens in the global marketplace.

Art Room News and Needs:

We appreciate donations: containers to keep things sorted such as TUPPERWARE STYLE CONTAINERS, ANY SIZE ZIPLOC bags. Appreciate donations that can be used in our CREATIVE environment.

Fall 2022

• Baby Wipes for CLAY and Painting

• Sharpies (all colors), especially black

• Small containers with lids (like the to go plastic that take out butter, etc.) , ziploc baggies, tissues

• Sometimes we do not have time to wash our hands in art class. Baby wipes of any kind allow us more time to create art, less time to clean. Old washcloths and small hand towels come in handy as well. If you are cleaning in 2021-22  and want to donate old paint shirts, we could use them.
