Please note that students who leave their Chromebook unattended are being negligent. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure the safety of their device at all times.
Students should report a missing/lost or stolen Chromebook to the Media Center.
For a chromebook that is missing, students are required to complete a missing Chromebook form which includes checking with each of the student’s teachers, obtaining teachers’ signatures and a parental or guardian signature verifying steps have been taken to retrieve or locate the device. Return the completed form to the Media Center.
After a completed form is turned in, the student will be issued a replacement Chromebook. Students/Parents are responsible for the replacement cost if a Chromebook is lost. Current replacement cost is determined by ETS. You may pay by check made out to RCMS or cash in the exact amount directly to the school. If needed, there may be the option of setting up a payment plan with the school bookkeeper. Please contact Mrs. Ivie to discuss this possibility. Her number is 864-452-0311.
If a student loses his or her charger or wishes to buy an additional 45W charger for the Chromebook, the AC power adapter should be compatible with our Lenovo 100e Chromebook. The replacement cost for a lost charger is $31.00. (Exact cash, My School Bucks, or a check payable to RCMS)
A school issued charger not turned in at the end of the school year, or when the student leaves our enrollment will result in a $31. 00 fine for the replacement cost of the charger placed on the student account.
