Connecting Chromebooks to Home Wifi Networks

Unfortunately, we are unable to troubleshoot most issues that may occur while using your Chromebooks with your home wifi network and issues with printing from Chromebooks via a home printer. Please see the following suggestions and links that you may find helpful when using your Chromebook at home.

GCSD Authentication

Enter your student username and password and select the number of hours you will need for online access. To ensure you will not have to continue authenticating while working online choose the maximum number of hours (6).

Printing from Chromebooks Using a Home Printer

Students can use a home printer in order to print from their Chromebooks if the printer is capable of Cloud printing. Chromebooks are different from traditional laptops and computers. You cannot print from a Chromebook by connecting your printer's USB cable to one of the Chromebook's USB ports.

Unfortunately, using a direct printer to Chromebook cable connection will not enable Chromebook printing. If you are unsure as to whether your home printer has Cloud printing enabled, please contact the manufacturer or consult a manual for directions. Google also has support pages that are listed below.

*Google support also includes directions that may provide a work around in using classic printers for cloud printing. Please note this has not been successfully verified with Chromebooks, but parents and students with classic printers may still want to try this option!
