We will make math fact flash cards for the following math facts: doubles facts, +1, +0, ways to make 10. The children practice these in the classroom. We will add these as the year continues.
Students should know their addition and subtraction facts for:
+0 , -0
+1 , -1
+2, -2
doubles ( 3+3) through 10 , (number take away itself 3-3)
doubles +1 (3+4) through 10 , (partners on the number line 4-3)
ways to make a 10 (7+3 , 8+2, etc...) (10-7, 10-3)
We will work on these all school year.

Money is at end of the year skill. By the end of the school year, they should be able to identify the front and back of coins and know the value of each coin. Coin combinations are studied in 2nd grade.
Use the picture above to help your child with combining coins. You can change the cupcake liners to just identify and sort the coins 1st.
