My name is Louise Huff and I teach first grade here at Paris Elementary. I graduated from Winthrop University. I have a daughter, Emily, who graduated from the University of SC in Columbia, and now lives in Blue Ridge with her husband Jordan and my grand dogs Copper & Bullet. I like cooking, shopping, and going to the movies and the theater.
I enjoy teaching the children to become respectful and responsible 1st graders. I like seeing the children develop helpful friendships with their classmates. It warms my heart when each student learns something new and has that "A-ha" moment. I also like to allow each child to be creative in their own way. We paint in class every year and I like to complete crafts with the students to help with following multistep directions.
This begins my 33rd year of teaching. Before coming to Paris, I taught 4 year old kindergarten for 6 years at Buncombe Street CDC. I also taught 1st grade for 10 years at Gateway Elementary in Travelers Rest. This begins my 17th year here at Paris Elementary. While here at Paris, I taught 1st grade for 2 years then moved to kindergarten for 4 years. I was very happy to return to 1st grade. I look forward to meeting you.
This school year will be filled with learning new things, making new friends and growing as an active learner. I love teaching and it is my joy to help your child be the best little person they can be.
Please contact me if you have any questions. I am always here to help both you and your child.
Caring for yours,
Ms. Louise Huff
