The ARMES Program is proud to announce South Carolina’s first district-sponsored middle school Mariachi program, hosted at Berea Middle School and Lakeview Middle School. Made possible through a partnership between Greenville County Schools, the Sigal Music Museum, Pecknel Music, and KHS America, this tuition-free, after-school initiative expands traditional music education by celebrating rich cultural traditions alongside high-level ensemble performance.
Designed for identified artistically gifted and talented students, the program offers rigorous, specialized instruction in traditional mariachi instruments—including guitar, vihuela, guitarrón, trumpet, and violin—as well as vocal training. Under the guidance of expert music educators, students develop technical mastery, ensemble discipline, ear training, and expressive performance skills.
