Meet Mrs. Klessens

Hello, my name is Christie Klessens and I am thrilled to be your child's First Grade teacher. I was born and raised in our beautiful Palmetto State. I grew up in Easley and then graduated from Woodruff High School. I received my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from USC Upstate and have ESOL (English as a Second Language) certification. I love learning so I graduated with my Masters in Literacy from Clemson University. GO TIGERS! Though I have only been with the School District of Greenville County since 2004, I started in the field of early childhood in 1994 .

I am married to my wonderful husband, Matt and we have two sons and one daughter. My husband's primary job is at a bank in Greer, but is also retired US Air Force veteran. (He served our country for twenty-nine years!) Our son, Branden graduated from USC and works in the Greenville area. He serves as the Boys Basketball Coach at Riverside Middle School. Our son Tanner also graduated USC with a Media Arts degree and lives in Georgia. Anslyn, our only daughter, is fifteen years old and is a tenth grader at Greer Middle College. We also have two fur babies Tigger and Cleo.

We have lived in the Greer area since 2000 and love being apart of this community . In my spare time I enjoy photography and spending time with my family. I have been apart of the Woodland Elementary family since 2008. I cannot wait to get to know each and everyone of you and your families.
