sCOOL Christmas
Christmas 2023
What's new this Christmas?
As usual, we have new challenges for you this Christmas season! Every day until New Year's Eve a new Joke will appear in the calendar, but without it's punchline. Figure it out and write down your answers, so that when you come back to school after the Christmas break, you can check if you right or wrong with your English teachers.
And that's not all! The Christmas Challenges QR code will take you to a multitude of tasks which can help you learn more about the festive season while also improving your English language skills.
Christmas 2022
This Christmas the challenge is to read - both deeply and widely!
Christmas 2021
We start the festive season with our Christmas calendars, which we hope will help you learn a bit more about Christmas traditions and inspire you to make your own DIY decorations and a lot more! And of course, we challenge you to make your own Christmas calendar, which we'll be happy to display for everyone to use! This year the challenge is to make a Christmas calendar which tells a story to help revive the Christmas spirit, which has become far too commercial in the last decades and even lost for some at the time of the current pandemic. It can be your Christmas photo-story, or a children's story, or any other story that can bring back the Christmas spirit of compassion & kindness. Sci-fi, fantasy, mystery, fairy tale, romance, drama, any genre goes! You can also illustrate it with your own beautiful works of art and use the advent calendar as a storyboard! As long as you send it by 20 December, we'll be able to display it just before Christmas!

Click on a day to find a Christmas-related image and a question. You need to speak for 1-2 minutes on the topic - you can choose either to answer the question or talk about the Christmas symbol. Hint: you can find information about all the symbols in the calendar above. Alternatively, you can choose someone and ask them questions about the image. Play with your class, or with your friends.

Despite the difficulties we had due to maintenance problems with the original calendar, which was only visible for the first 10 days of December, we managed to complete all the tasks using Google classroom and publishing one task a day. Although it was not as interactive as we had aimed it to be, I hope my students had fun. You will find below some of the best responses to the original tasks. Enjoy!
