“Creating digital educational resources for active teaching and learning” 2022 - 2023
A world of festive destinations
(for globe-trotters and culture vultures)
Round-the-world-trips, festivals - don’t we all love them both? Especially in the month of the spring holiday when we also celebrate Palm Sunday, Easter, Ramadan and Earth Day. You must have wondered which places you would like to visit or how and why people celebrate around the world. Our school with its 135-year-old teaching traditions and so many languages to offer its students is bound to broaden their horizons.
Why not take a tour of the continents with the students from year 11 and 12, so we can find out which places they will suggest for us to visit and check out how much we know about their people’s cultural heritage? Let’s take a virtual trip to some of the world’s most attractive tourist destinations, and also to some distant nooks and corners off the beaten track, so we can help you plan your next vacation and practice English with the tasks designed by students from 11e, 11zh and ex-11d.(HERE)
Of course, when we head for remote countries, it’s best to know at least a bit about their holidays, so we can choose the best time and season for our visit. 12d have taken care of that by selecting different seasons and national holidays and festivities to present to you in an interesting way. (HERE)
We hope you enjoy our virtual tour and get inspired to create your own fun activities about other places, because the world is big and amazing festivals and journeys await round every corner.
Nina Patterson with the students from 11e, 11zh and 12d
