Paper 3 is an examination around a synoptic investigation based on a geographical issue within a place-based context that links to the three synoptic themes and is rooted in two or more of the compulsory content areas (the list of topics below). Information about the geographical issue will be in a resource booklet.
The three synoptic themes are Players, Attitudes and actions and Futures and uncertainties.
This examination will include the following extended writing questions: two 8-mark essays (both Analyse), one 18-mark essay (Evaluate) and one 24-mark essay (Evaluate). This is the only paper with 18-mark and 24-mark essays.
