Michael Jackson, born on Aug. 29, 1958, with his manic dance moves and extraordinary vocals, turned into a pop sensation in a matter of seconds. Like Elvis Presley, so many people went crazy over Jackson’s dances. At 12 years old, Michael became a pop sensation upon releasing his first solo studio album, Got To Be There.

Michael Jackson was already a major pop icon as a kid for being in a vocal group called  The Jackson 5 with his five other brothers. Managed by their father, Joe Jackson, their lives were getting too difficult. As Michael got older, it started to get difficult to mix work with family. In 1973, their group disbanded, and they went on with their own lives, recording music. After they disbanded, Jackson recorded many albums and singles. In 1983, he even recorded a duet song called "State of Shock" with Mick Jagger.

Michael Jackson married into one of the most famous music families today, the Presley family. According to Biography.com, “In Aug. 1994, Jackson announced that he had married Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of rock icon Elvis Presley.” About two decades before the two tied the knot, Lisa attended several of his concerts at age seven, and then reconnected through mutual friends. As stated by The U.S. Sun, "At the time of their reunion, Lisa Marie was married to Danny Keough. Jackson and Lisa Marie quickly became friends and often talked on the phone, but their relationship did not progress beyond that right away."

In 1993, Jackson faced allegations of child molestation by a 13-year-old boy; after his Neverland Ranch was searched, those allegations were overturned. Even though the claim was then presumed false, many people thought it was true because he was known to have many sleepovers with the boys at the ranch. On Biography.com it is stated that “Jackson admitted that he continued to have children sleep over at his ranch, even after the 1993 allegations, and that sometimes he slept with the children in his bed”. At the point of this claim, Michael had turned to Lisa Marie Presley for support on his allegations that he had denied.

On July 8, 2009, Michael Jackson got to see all of his tickets for his This Is It tour sell out but, sadly, never got to go because he died in June of that same year. On Biography.com it is stated that "Michael died June 25, 2009 of cardiac arrest in his Los Angeles home. As the next year followed, the coroner’s report of Michael came back and found out that a prescription drug that his own personal doctor had given him was the cause of his death." His personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, was accused of involuntary manslaughter by giving Michael multiple doses of a sedative drug to help him sleep.  According to the BBC, he was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and served nearly two years in the Los Angeles jail.

For privacy and silence, the Jackson family decided to have a private funeral at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. Jackson was the source of a lot of news throughout recent music history. Some people think he is an outstanding musician and others think that he is nothing more than a child molestor. One thing we all know is that he will forever be known as the King of Pop.
