In this article, Lisa jokingly pokes at Charlie Sheen's acting and points out why it was obviously better in the past, though his soul was merlily sacrificed.
Charlie Sheen is one of the biggest stars ever. He has been in many movies and shows that have gained popularity for him. This wasn’t always how it was, though; his popularity grew when his acting became better on drugs. Everyone knows this, and we can all see his later change in acting style from his first movies. While this may have drastically hurt his personal life, you know, you gotta do what you gotta do to gain a career.
Sheen's career started when he was interested in his dad's film acting career, according to the very reliable source Wikipedia. He was only nine years old when he first appeared in his dad's movie The Execution of Private Slovik. He grew up acting, along with being the star pitcher on the baseball team. When he got to college, he was busy with plays and tried hard to be involved with baseball. Charlie started doing more and more films, such as Grizzly 2: Revenge (1983, original title: Grizzly 2: The Predator) Red Dawn (1984), Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986), Platoon (1986), and more. Charlie quickly grew to be loved by many.
At the age of 10, as also answered by Wikipedia's lovely, truthful site, he was exposed to marijuana in Malibu. In junior high/middle school, he began to drink beer. In high school, his curiosity got the better of him and he started snorting cocaine. This is the beginning of the actor's wonderful and terrific career-- all thanks to drugs. Now, he has been married three times and has five children. His life basically started out as the Breaking Bad episode premiere. He must have confused his own life with true crime drama and horror acting.
One of his best acting roles was as Charlie Harper in Two And A Half Men (2003), when he was 38 (also his character's age when the show first started) . His character was a young bachelor living on the beach in Malibu. Charlie’s dreams slowly fade when his brother and nephew come to his door, asking for a place to live, and overdo their stay. During the filming of Two And A Half Men, Charlie Sheen had impressively improvised his lines while high on cocaine. Jon Cryer, his co-star, was very impressed and said to The Medium, “I remember the moment I met Charlie. He went straight from shaking my hand to riding a rail off his sleeve…It was a beautiful moment that made me live up to my last name.” He is a man who can easily charm most with his drug usage. We love that in an actor. This is very beneficial for his brain and health. You can even say he was just living his life while filming this show-- literally.
On Dec. 12, 2017, Charlie decided to get clean after not being able to drive his daughter to a morning doctor's appointment. He had told People that, regarding drinking, there “wasn't anywhere to go with it.” He has now been sober for about 8-9 years. Since then, his acting career has gone downhill. USA Today states that he has not been in major projects in many, many years. He has only been in a few small ones. Who knows what could have happened if he stayed on drugs. Maybe his career would have been better; maybe his addiction would have finally killed him. We’ll never know, due to him being sober now. His acting career may have been better when he was snorting cocaine, but when we really look at it, maybe it was the best option to get clean. He started off a young, carefree soul, and now he's basically in retirement. Who needs Platoon 2, anyway? Congratulations, Charlie!
