Math Masters is a Granite initiative to increase fluency with basic facts and student confidence in mathematics. Teachers will provide instruction using the digital Building Fact Fluency (BFF) activities with their class several times per week. Teachers or a Math Para will then provide time to practice that learning through playing the BFF games.

Seven Significant Strategies Videos
REMEMBER:
Strategies are meant to be flexible. Don't turn these strategies into an algorithm (a set of steps to follow).
Make the math visible using manipulatives, models, pictures, etc. to build conceptual understanding and make connections.
7 significant strategies are described in Chapter 4 of “Figuring Out Fluency in Mathematics Teaching and Learning” by Jennifer Bay-Williams and John J. SanGiovani.
There are other strategies to use with computation and procedural fluency, but these 7 strategies are extremely useful and scalable - meaning they can be used with larger numbers and other situations like decimals and fractions.
It is highly recommended to teach these strategies and help students practice using them in both BFF activities and Tier 1 instruction.
