Best practice - These are lessons or activities that are prerequisites for upcoming Tier 1 instruction or reteaching of previously taught standards or skills. Teach a game/activity in a small group for students to then be able to play on their own in student led activities.

i-Ready program can continue to support hands-on mathematics instruction, student assessment, and teacher planning. Specifically, you may continue to use:
i-Ready Classroom Mathematics print resources, including student worktexts, teacher guides, manipulatives, and printed activities that support core instruction.
Teacher-facing digital tools to review diagnostic data, group students, project instructional content during whole-group instruction, and print instructional resources.
i-Ready Inform (formerly i-Ready Diagnostic), comprehension checks, and standards mastery assessments (grades 2-3) to monitor students’ growth and mastery of mathematics standards.
i-Ready My Path and other instructional digital resources like IXL, ST Math, Fluency Flight, and Learning Games are for use at-home only.

2026 Draft P-12 Utah Core Mathematics Standards pdf
USBE is having an independent review done on the draft standards. Once that process is complete, the standards are expected to be approved. We anticipate implementation of the new math standards Fall 2027.
The math team presented the results from the survey the State Board released to gather feedback from stakeholders on the structure of the Secondary Math Standards at the March 12th Standards and Assessment Committee meeting.

We will continue using i-Ready Classroom Mathematics for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years. This curriculum is aligned with the proposed new core; additional lessons will be provided for new Utah standards. Only some My Path Personalized Instruction licenses are provided for each school through the STEM Action Center grant; this is an add on for Tier 2 instruction. Individual schools have the option to purchase additional licenses. All other resources are still available to all students & classrooms.

These are curriculum programs we use in Granite School District. Their separate purposes and resources complement each other to build a foundation of conceptual understanding of mathematics to support GSD's Strategic Plan.

Use a grant to purchase any of the following:
Brand‑new math materials kits for Kindergarten and Grade 1 have the hands-on workmats, card decks and spinner cards for instruction. Cost: $399 from Curriculum Associates.
Math manipulatives
This grant seeks proposals that are unique and based on individual classroom needs. If you are requesting a “kit”, how are you going to use it in a new, original way? You will need to purchase materials then be reimbursed upon completion of the grant form.
