Our dedicated Churchill School Counseling Team works collaboratively with teachers, parents, and administrators to create a school environment of belonging, connection, and achievement for all. We believe each student has unique talents and strengths and we are committed to preparing each student with the skills and abilities necessary for academic achievement, social and emotional well-being, and future success in college, careers, and life.
Our Role
From one day to the next, school counselors are busy meeting with students (both individually and in small/large groups) to discuss academic progress, address personal concerns, celebrate successes and milestones, and offer support. We work with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop strategies for student success and deliver classroom lessons on a variety of topics - including study habits, social skills, stress management, and conflict resolution. We also monitor students' progress in achievement, attendance, and behavior and assist students with course selection, goal setting, resources, and more.
Our Policy
Our Open Door Policy means just that—our door is always open to you! We encourage students and parents alike to reach out when questions, concerns, or a need for support arises. Students can connect with their school counselor during school hours by email or by visiting the Counseling Center to schedule an appointment with Mrs. Reynoso, our school counseling clerk. Students needing to meet with a school counselor during class time can request a pass from their teacher. We also welcome parents to connect with their student's school counselor by reaching out via phone, email, or in person.

Mrs. Roberts brings 20 years of knowledge and experience as a social worker to the Churchill Team. She has worked in the Granite School District for 7 years but this is her very first year at Churchill. Mrs. Roberts loves hiking and being outside. When the weather turns cold, she opts for indoor creative outlets like knitting, all because she hates being cold. One of her goals is to travel out of the country at least once a year. She has visited every state except Alaska, and she's planning to make a trip there this summer! One of the things she loves about being a social worker is helping students develop coping and problem-solving skills. Seeing them overcome challenges and build confidence as they apply these skills is incredibly rewarding. How lucky we are to have Mrs. Roberts on our team!

Watching students grow and reach their speech and language goals is so rewarding for her! In her free time, Mrs. HIggins loves reading, hiking, yoga, and spending time with her family. She also loves interior design and decorating her home. We are sure excited to have Mrs. Higgins on our Churchill team!
