Churchill Jr High Middle Years Program 

Churchill Junior High is proud to begin implementing the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) during the 2026-2027 school year. The MYP is a globally recognized framework designed for students aged 11–16 that fosters creative, critical, and reflective thinking. As part of this framework, students will engage in a rigorous, well-rounded curriculum across eight required subject groups: Language and Literature, Language Acquisition (World Languages), Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, Arts, Physical and Health Education, and Design.

Course Selection  

In preparation for the 2026–2027 school year, all incoming students must submit a Course Selection Form (see above) for the grade they will be entering. Parents and guardians should complete this form with their student, ensuring the following sections are addressed:

• Student Identification: Complete all fields, including Student ID, date of birth, and parent contact information.

• Required Courses: Select one course from each of the eight MYP subject groups.

  • Note: Core courses (English, Social Studies, Math, and Science) are offered as Honors only.

• Gifted and Talented Placement: Students who qualify for Gifted and Talented (GT) classes should tick the required core Honors courses (English, Social Studies, Math, and Science) listed on the form. CJH School Counselors will see to it that qualifying students are placed in the appropriate GT classes.

• Electives: Rank your top four choices (#1–4) in the Elective Courses section.

  • Note: Electives marked with an asterisk (*) require participation in evening performances.

• Signature: A parent or guardian must sign on the appropriate line on the bottom of the form. 

• Important Deadline: Completed forms must be submitted to the Churchill School Counseling Center by Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
