JUNIOR HIGH
Junior High
College and Career Readiness (CCR) in junior high is the process of preparing students for future success in college and careers. It involves helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and attributes that will enable them to successfully navigate higher education and the workforce. It also entails exploring interests and future career options so that students can begin making connections between education and real world opportunities.

Creating Study Skills That Last
It's no secret - the foundation for success in higher education is laid during the middle years (junior high). This is when study habits, organization, and time management skills begin to take shape - all skills that can greatly impact a student's potential for future achievement. If you’re looking for ways to support your student in developing effective study techniques that pave the way for academic success in junior high and beyond, this article is for you! School Events & Presentations
College Week (Link to Presentation)
Churchill's Dream It, Achieve It College Week was one for the books! We spent the first week in October exploring future college opportunities, college savings and scholarships, Utah colleges, and more. We enjoyed daily lunch time events and activities, college swag, and a school-wide presentation filled with messages from VIPs, a college virtual tour, and plenty of college and career facts and fun. We wrapped up the week with our Dream It, Achieve It Pajama Day and a reminder to set college and career sights high, work hard, & remember: if you can dream it, you can achieve it! Follow the presentation link above to learn more about our week.
College & Career Readiness Plan
The College and Career Readiness Plan (CCRP) represents an important milestone in a student's educational journey. These plans provide an opportunity for 7th and 8th grade students to meet with their school counselor and parent to begin planning their high school academic trajectory, discuss potential career paths, and set goals to ensure they are college and career ready by high school graduation. Churchill's school counselors will be wrapping up CCRP meetings with 8th grade students this January and 7th Grade CCRPs will follow soon after. We invite you to browse through our College & Career Readiness Planning Presentation for resources and information aplenty on all things College and Careers.
YouScience - Discover Your Future
YouScience guides students to discover their natural aptitudes and interests and connects them with college and career pathways that are both relevant and personal. College and Career exploration through YouScience is a significant component of the 8th Grade College and Career Awareness (CCA) Course curriculum.
