The BBC micro:bit is a physical computing device (microcontroller) that provides a bridge between abstract concepts and tangible experiences.
This is a small yet powerful device which is great for students to use from K-12. TVDSB has invested in these tools in order to create tactile learning experiences.
The micro:bit affords the ability to take coding beyond the computer screen which means students can complete design and build challenges, science experiments, etc.
Another great feature of the micro:bit is that you do not require a physical micro:bit to enhance your coding skills. There is an open source online simulator for students to program with which also makes it viable if/while teaching remotely.
