Here, I will share resources & information throughout the school year. Information will be updated as it becomes available.

Welcome to Kindergarten at kensal park!

We have an exciting year planned with lots of fun and so much to learn. We are looking forward to an amazing school year!

This website is a way for you to get to know a bit about our classroom dynamics and philosophy of learning. We strive to meet the emotional, academic and social needs of each student through an exploration based, teacher and child-centered learning environment.

On this website you will find information about upcoming events and activities in our classroom and at school, as well as information about upcoming field trip and volunteering information.  You will also find many useful resources and online educational games.

If you have any questions throughout the year, please contact us by writing a note in your child's agenda or by calling the school at: (519) 452-8280.

We're looking forward to a fun and exciting year!

iNFORMATION ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Kensal Park operates on a 10-day balanced cycle. School entry is at 8:15 a.m.

Our first nutrition break is 9:35-10:15 a.m.  Students will be outside for 15 minutes and then they will have time for a snack and re-energize in the classroom for 25 minutes.

The second nutrition break is 11:55-12:45 p.m. Students will be outside for 15 minutes and then they will have time to eat their lunch in the classroom for 35 minutes. As we are an ECO school, we respectfully request that you pack 2 healthy snacks/small lunches in reusable containers so as to minimize our class garbage. We have recently established a new Boomerang lunch program where any items brought to school will be returned home, this will include garbage, recycling, and any uneaten food items. We will ensure that containers are properly rinsed in hopes of minimizing a mess.

Our principal is M. Darby and our vice-principal is Mme Stover.

The school phone number is (519) 452-8280.  If your child will be absent or arriving late, please notify the office through either our synervoice absence reporting program or call the school.

All visitors and volunteers to the school must sign in upon arrival at the office where you will receive a lanyard to wear. This is to ensure the safety of all our children and that we know who is in our school.

Dismissal is at 2:45 p.m.  Buses will meet the students at the front of the school.  If you are picking up your child, please enter from the Ridgewood neighbourhood and meet us in the Forest in the East yard. Please DO NOT park in the La Ribambelle parking lot.  If you need to pick up your child early for an appointment, please send a note on School Messenger and contact the office so that we can have them ready for sign-out.  If you need to pick up your child early and do not advise us in advance, you must go to the office and they will page the classroom to have your child sent to you - please do not come to our class without stopping in at the office first. There will be no unscheduled pick-ups after 2:15 p.m. unless it is an emergency.
