Meet The Teacher

My name is Trinity Buis and I will be your homeroom teacher at Royal Roads Public School (RRPS). I currently live in Ingersoll with my husband (Mr. Buis -- avid marathon canoer, cyclist, and runner who considers the Thames (Antler) River his second home), daughters (Iris and Violet -- fellow Royal Roads students who are currently waiting on their Hogwarts acceptance letters and enjoy Acro and Ballet dancing), dog (Nero -- an older Labrador Retriever with a passion for watching the kids swim and soaking up some rays on the deck), and cats (Mika -- a former barn cat who enjoys catching the elusive housefly, and glaring at anyone who disturbs nap time, and newly-adopted Zippy -- also a former barn cat who enjoys watching the birds outside and curiously exploring the house).

As for me? I am a fan of all things Harry Potter, Star Wars, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Supernatural, X Files, and zombies! In my spare time you can find me reading, glamping, swimming, playing video (Horizon Forbidden West is my favourite!) and board games (I can not get enough of Hogwarts Battle!), or practising yoga.

This is my fourteenth year teaching for the Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) and ninth year at RRPS. In my fourteen years as an educator, I have taught students from JK/SK through to Grade 12. Previously, I was a Math Lead Teacher at RRPS and I have a passion for teaching elementary mathematics! I am a three-time graduate of Western University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature, a Bachelor of Education degree with Junior/Intermediate/Senior qualifications (Additional Qualifications: Special Education Part 1, Mathematics Grades 7 & 8, Mathematics Primary and Junior Part 1), and a Master of Education degree in Educational Psychology and Special Education.

Grade 7 will be a fun-filled, rewarding and challenging year. On this website you will find a number of tools we will be using in class and ways that you can follow what we are doing in the classroom, program plans and student expectations to ensure that we maintain a positive and productive learning environment.

The level of responsibility increases in the Intermediate division, and we will be working on and developing strategies to help students be successful.

Please feel free to contact me at anytime with questions or concerns via email, tv47487@gotvdsb.ca, t.buis@tvdsb.ca, or at (519) 485-4849

Sincerely,

Mrs. T. Buis
