Students will examine the interrelationships between Aboriginal art forms and individual and cultural identities and values. They will create art works to express their own ideas and understanding of Aboriginal identity, relationships, and sovereignty by using a range of media, processes, techniques, and styles.
Art that we create or analyze will explore or reflect First Nations, Métis and Inuit perspectives and cultures. Students will examine the interconnected relationships between art forms and individual and cultural identities, histories, values, protocols, and ways of knowing and being.
Courses will start with relationship building and also going over terminology before diving into the course. The resources used within the courses may have various terms, so it is recommended to review the terminology with students and discuss that they will vary.
