Students study in depth how the elements and principles of design are applied in various art forms. These courses introduce students to the world of design and graphic design concepts. Using a combination of traditional handmade graphic design techniques including embossing, screen printing and a variety of new technologies including computer design, students communicate ideas and execute solutions to communication problems.

Practical exam should be a demonstration of knowledge gained throughout the semester. No new medium or skills should be introduced in the final project or reflection writing. The form of testing should be familiar to the students, a similar format to what has been done in class.
