Reflection Question
Look back at your notes, observations, and experiences for this Wetland Lab. Do the following: (i) summarize what you saw on the day of the lab - paying special attention to the influence of hydrology, soils, and vegetation on the structure and function of wetlands, (ii) recount the restoration efforts that have been ongoing at Merry Lea regarding Wetlands and what the outcomes have been to date, and (iii) discuss the general history of wetlands on this landscape as evidenced by what you learned at Merry Lea and what some possible future directions for this landscape might be regarding wetlands and their place.

Introduction
Introduction
We will spend the majority of our time in the field examining various wetland communities across Merry Lea. You will be consulting your readings during lab so make sure your phone is charged so you can access the documents as we hike. We will be walking both on and off trails and some places may be quite wet so wear closed-toed footwear, and long pants. It will be VERY hot so bring your water bottle and drink plenty of water. Bring a field notebook and pencil with you as well.
