We will be departing the Phys. Plant at noon tomorrow (Tues.) to travel down to Merry Lea for your field lab. We will again begin our time in the Barn classroom getting oriented to documents that can be used for interpreting soils in the field, and be introduced to your next graded lab exercise.
You should bring:
field notebook and pencil
completed topo map exercise from last week to turn in
the laminated USGS topo map to turn in
photocopied "Edwards Tract" topo map that you will again use in the field for this lab
We will be spending our time in the field investigation various soil pits in the Edwards Savanna. Except for a brief stop in a wooded site, we will be walking through tall grasses and forbs the entirety of our experience.
