Podcasting

By following this learning journey, students can start with foundational skills in Year 5 and gradually build upon them, gaining confidence and expertise in podcasting. This journey encourages creativity, critical thinking, effective communication, collaboration, and digital literacy skills, empowering students to explore their interests and make an impact through podcasting in future years. 

Existing Skills: Basic digital literacy skills, listening skills, and effective communication skills.

  3. Listen to and analyze podcast episodes, identifying key points and main ideas.

  4. Participate in discussions about podcast content, sharing personal opinions and interpretations.

  5. Begin practicing note-taking skills during podcast listening.

  6. Collaborate with peers to create a short audio segment, such as a mini-podcast, on a familiar topic.

During this unit you will create your own podcast with a group of between 2-4 people. This is not just a test of your technical skills, but also of your English and oracy skills.
