Frequently Asked Questions Maintenance for Saliva Testing Unit
What is the maintenance protocol?
The machine should only be wiped down with alcohol gauze (Please do not use CaviWipes to abrasive). There are cotton swabs provided for maintenance to be performed when indicated.
Navigate to the home screen and click on system.
Then select maintenance
Enter cleaning mode and confirm.
Clean the three white boxes (reference materials) using the provided cotton swabs.
Once completed, dispose of the cotton swab, and perform a hard reset by holding the power button for 7 seconds (this process will not alter any data or barcode cards).
How does the machine process the test? Are there lasers inside the machine and/or how does it read the sample?
The Machine processes the test using an optical reader that analyzes the sample information. The captured data is then analyzed by an algorithm to derive the results. There are no lasers involved in the process.
What is the durability of the machine?
This machine is sensitive and should be handled with care, especially during movement. It is important to remove the internal cartridge from the machine if it needs to be moved to another location.
How should we store the tests in the office?
The tests must be stored in an area that is at a lower than 77-degree temp
It must not be exposed to any heat
Does the machine need to be calibrated?
The machine does not require manual calibration. It performs self-calibration when turned on. It is recommended to turn off the machine every night and power it on first thing in the morning. Additionally, a QR card included in each box of tests can be used to calibrate the machine when necessary.
