A two-way conversation with a patient has been simplified and is now available directly within the Denticon platform.
Along your toolbar, there has always been a chat bubble. This bubble held a snapshot of all the outgoing messages, including the registration links and any opt-out responses. Unfortunately, this limited functionality didn’t work well as everyone couldn’t see the messages, and tracking communication was difficult.
The new fully integrated chat will allow all communication sent via text to show up here, allowing the entire administrative team to see and respond to text messages. This provides a similar workflow, mimicking our current patient communication on other platforms like LH360 or Podium.
To send a new text message, you can open the patient overview of the Patient you would like to message. At the top of your toolbar, select Patient, then scroll down to Email or Text Message.
This will then give you the option to send an Email or Two Way Communication, as shown below.
From here select Two Way Communication.
A new window will open, giving you several options. One is a message box at the very bottom of the page. You can type the message you would like in the box and hit SEND. The message box allows users to send a message of up to 160 characters at a time.
You can also review all incoming messages by selecting the corresponding icon. Unread messages are marked as such and only change once a user has read the message. This function makes it easier to identify if another team member has reviewed it and is taking action.
Additionally, once in Two Way Communication, you can search for existing conversations with other patients and toggle to them directly from here by selecting their profile along the side. So again, several options are available in addition to standard text messaging.
Along the bottom, you will notice several new icons. From here, you can send patient registration links, consents, links to the payment portal and AppointNow. Hovering over the icons will display their function. Once selected, they preload into the message box, allowing you to send them.
Each office will have a unique number for texting, but it will not be your main phone line.
