Diverse student populations demand diverse modes of communication from educators. This presentation aims to introduce two methods of communication: low-context communication (LCC) and high-context communication (HCC). LCC is the dominant mode of communication in the US and other individualistic cultures. HCC is more dominant in East Asian and collectivist cultures. Knowing how both modes of communication work helps educators reach and support more students, especially if they are teaching in diverse communities. Join this presentation to find useful tools to help bridge possible communication gaps in your classroom.
