Brownsboro High School is Sources of Strength School
What is Sources of Strength (aka SOS)?
It's a program we have on our campus that is an evidence-based, peer-led suicide prevention program for youth that uses social network theory to promote hope, help and strength by developing protective factors like family support, positive friends and mentors. It aims to change school culture to reduce bullying, substance abuse and suicide attempts by training advisors and peer leaders to connect peers to needed help, foster a sense of belonging and spread messages of wellness through campaigns on campus. We meet monthly on campus during Enrichment (and a little more) with a group of Adult Advisors (staff) and Peer Leaders (students).
