It is a GREAT day to be a Bear!
I am excited to be kicking off my 2nd year as a counselor here at BHS. Being in the district for 24 years as a classroom teacher, RtI teacher and Dyslexia Specialist has been extremely rewarding. Of the 24 years, 23 of those have been with Brownsboro ISD. I graduated from UT Tyler.
I believe students have unlimited potential. Seeing them become confident and fulfilling their goals is rewarding to me. Helping students overcome obstacles in life that can be so difficult to navigate, in a positive way, is a goal I strive to achieve.
My husband Ty and I have been married for 32 years. We have three grown kids who are living their best lives. I have been blessed with three grandchildren who call me Tweety which is my favorite name. I enjoy spending time with my family. Traveling to see national parks and having new adventures is one of my favorite things to do.
Howdy Bears! I'm so excited to be a counselor here at BHS! I can't believe it but this is my 23rd year as a School Counselor. I've worked in North Carolina and Texas but I'm originally from western New York state. GO BILLS!! I graduated with a Bachelor's in Psychology from the University at Buffalo and from St. Bonaventure University with a Master's of Education in School Counseling.
I enjoy working with my students to be the best version of themselves, getting to know them and building relationships. I especially like the high school years to watch them grow and make those life-long decisions. I believe that every student has the capacity to learn coping skills, how to be resilient, and how to make the best decisions that will help them in their future endeavors. Families and teachers are an integral part of those endeavors. I look forward to forming strong partnerships so that this year is productive and prosperous. I'm available to help along the way when I can. My door is always open, so please reach out.
On a personal note, I've been married for 25 years and my husband is a teacher at Athens High School. I have 2 grown kids, 1 daughter, Madison and 1 son, Ian. We love to hang out, travel and do lots of fun things together. I also have 2 doggies, Jackson and Jasper.
