Additional credits required to pursue college and career. It is our goal that all students will achieve a foundation plus endorsement graduation program.
During each year in high school at Brownsboro ISD, it is the expectation that all students enroll and complete courses in the four core subject areas. Parents and students are encouraged to carefully consider college entrance requirements and career readiness standards set by institutions of higher education. Colleges want you to have a Foundation + Endorsement + Distinguished diploma. Be aware of what requirements are for your post-high school plans.
FOUNDATION HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM WITHOUT ENDORSEMENTS
22 Credits
4 credits English-English I, II, III and one credit in any advanced English course
3 credits Mathematics - Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II and one credit in any advanced Math course
3 credits Science - Biology, plus IPC or Chemistry or Physics, plus two additional science courses
3 credits Social Studies - World Geography or World History, US History, Government (.5 credit) Economics (.5 credit)
2 credits Language other than English in the same language
1 credit Physical Education
1 credit Fine Arts
3 credits in Electives

FOUNDATION HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM WITH ENDORSEMENTS
A student may earn an endorsement by successfully competing curriculum requirements for endorsements adopted by the State Board of Education in the following areas:
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math), Business & Industry, Public Service, Arts & Humanities, Multidisciplinary Studies
FOUNDATION HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM WITH ENDORSEMENTS - DISTINGUISHED LEVEL OF ACHIEVEMENT
Students are eligible for top 10% automatic admission to state universities with the exception of UT Austin.
26 Credits
4 credits in English, Math & Science with one math credit being Algebra II and complete Endorsement, a minimum of 4 credits in one CTE program of study
26 Credits
4 credits English-English I, II, III and one credit in any advanced English course
4 credits Mathematics - Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II and one credit in any advanced Math course
4 credits Science - Biology, plus IPC or Chemistry or Physics, plus two additional science courses

*Recommended to take 4 years of Social Studies. Some colleges have not changed requirements.

Beginning with 20-21 graduating class, completion of the free and confidential financial aid application FAFSA or TASFA is required to graduate in the state of Texas.

PERFORMANCE ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Performance acknowledgements may be earned for (1) outstanding performance in the following areas:
By successfully completing 12 hours of college academic courses with a grade of 3.0 or higher.
Earn an associate's degree while in high school.
In bilingualism & literacy - completion of a minimum of 3 credits in the same language in a language other than English with a minimum of 80 or better.
Outstanding performance on a college advanced placement test - SAT/ACT.
By earning a nationally or internationally recognized business or industry certification or license.
ARE YOU CCMR READY?
College, Career, Military Readiness
This is a program that is focused on preparing students for their future endeavors after high school, whether they choose to attend college, enter the workforce or join the military. CCMR is integrated into the everyday culture of our district and is supported by state guidelines, partnerships with higher education organizations and businesses.
CCMR Accountability
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has defined a set of indicators that students can earn to be considered college, career or military ready.
Students who meet one of these CCMR indicators are considered "CCMR-met" and receive a CCMR medal for graduation.
Readiness indicators are achieved by:
Meet criteria of 3 on AP examinations or 4 on IB examination
Meet TSI criteria via SAT, ACT, TSI-A, or College Prep Course in English and math
Complete a dual credit course (9 hours in any subject or 3 hours English/mathematics)
Earn an associate degree
Earn a Level I or Level II certificate
Earn an industry-based certification (IBC)
Complete a program of study in CTE
Graduate with completed IEP and workforce readiness
Enlist in one of the armed forces
