A: Ensure the selected group on all your work orders matches the Org from which the work order was created. If the wrong group is selected on a time entry it will cause the team timesheet to break.
A: You'll need resource sharing enabled. Contact your Region Analyst, or If they're unavailable reach out to atomsupport@utah.gov. Make sure to note the construction org you need access to.
A: Under the Resources tab here on the Knowledge Center navigate to training videos and watch the Creating An Asset videos. If you need additional help with creating assets you can reach out to atomsupport@utah.gov or you can also fill out our Atom - Request for Training to schedule a training for your station.
A: The location of your work is critical for reporting purposes. Route and MP data are used in reports for senior leadership, stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), and maintenance planning. These reports help allocate resources, secure funding, and highlight the valuable work you perform.
A: Atom pulls equipment data directly from Fleet every 15 minutes. Contact your Region's Fleet Manager to move the equipment into your stations org in Fleet, It should appear shortly after they make the change.
A: Attaching assets to work orders enables UDOT to lead the transportation industry by tracking work to specific roadway assets. This practice helps determine asset lifecycle costs, identify assets needing additional funding, and supports the future of Asset-Based Budgeting. It also provides leadership with data to highlight areas of need and showcase your valuable contributions.
A: Here on the Knowledge Center we have a plethora of material for you in the resources tab including training videos, step-by-step guides, and reference materials. You can also schedule a training session with our team by completing the Atom - Request for Training Form.
A: Entering accurate work order information including roadway assets, route and milepost (MP), LEM, and condition ratings—is essential for telling the story of the work UDOT is doing. The data entered every day provides a comprehensive view of statewide asset conditions, trends, and needs. This information helps UDOT advocate for additional funding where it's needed most by providing leadership with reports of the great work you are doing. Accurate data ultimately ensures that resources are used effectively and that the impact of our work is clearly demonstrated.
A: Atom entered timesheets must be approved by Station Supervisors, Area Supervisors, District Engineers, and Resident Engineers.
Transportation Technicians of any level are not allowed to approve any employees timesheet per policy FIACCT 11-17_00.
A: Reach out to a member of our team and provide us the details or report that you would like to see. A lot of times we already have a report developed that may fit your needs.
A: Your Atom dashboard is completely customizable to you. Many websites and reports can be added to your dashboard by entering a website URL into the embed link in the dashboard settings. If there is something additional you would like to see, please submit your idea to us and we can submit it to the developer for future enhancements.
A: To get an employee access to Atom they must be a UDOT employee and have a state-issued email account. Once that's in place, follow these instructions for your first time log in.
If the employee is in a non-typical position that requires Atom access, please contact our team with details about how they intend and need to use the system.
