Inventory | Data Management
Users can see and create asset types within the Inventory Portal.
Click the Add Schema icon to create a new inventory type.
Complete the following fields to create a new inventory type. (See the image below)
Inventory Type Name
Type (Location-based or Cost-based)
Location Type (Point or Line)
Color and Map Marker
Click Create.
Note: Once your inventory type is created, you can edit schema and add attributes and groups.
Click the View Details link to to view more information on an inventory type or to edit the existing inventory type.
Click the Duplicate icon to duplicate an inventory's schema and start a new draft.
Click the Delete icon to delete an inventory type.
Click the Edit Schema icon to edit schema groups, sub items, and attributes.
Edit
Click the Edit icon to update or change the inventory type name, type, location type, and/or color and map marker.
View Schema
Click the View Schema icon to preview how the schema will look in the Inventory Detail once published.
Delete
Click the Delete icon to delete the inventory type while in draft status.
Publish
Click Publish to finalize.
Note: Once a schema has been published, new assets may be added to Inventory. Attributes cannot be removed once added, however, new attributes can be added.
You can add groups and sub items to create parent > child relationships for the asset type.
Add Group
Click the Add Group icon to group sub items.
Add Sub Item
Click the Add Sub Item icon to create a new asset to this asset type. Sub Items can be grouped at this level.
Asset Type
By clicking the asset type, you can view more information and edit attributes.
Click the Add Group icon in the attribute column to create an attribute group.
Name the group.
Click the Add Attribute icon to add attributes to the group.
Name the Attribute. Click Save.
Click the attribute to edit the Field Type.
The following Field Types may be selected:
Short Text: 100 character max
Long Text: 2,000 character max
Single Select: 75 options
Multi Select: 75 options
Yes/No: Boolean
Numeric: Unit options are available
Currency: 16 number + 2 decimal places
Data Picker: YYYY-MM-DD (Displayed: MM/DD/YYYY)
