Based on how many students fill out the form from PCC's Registration Website for classes that are full, and the availability of a teacher to teach it, more sections of the class might be added to the schedule if the section that I teach remains full.
All classes are limited as to how many people can be added. In person classes are limited by the space and equipment in the room. This is why it is best if you can get into the class before the terms begins. According to PCC policy, which requires students to be in attendance for the entire first class meeting.
So, please try to register before the start of the term (check pasadena.edu email every 24 hours if you're on the wait list),
Once you get on the waitlist for a class check your go.pasadena.edu email address every 24 hours. Once you are on the waitlist, you'll be notified when space becomes available, and you'll have to take action very quickly in order to secure your place in the course before the term begins. It is not an automatic process that happens without the student taking action. PCC gives students 48 to add. If the student doesn't add within 48 hours after PCC sends the message, then the student is dropped from the waitlist, and the next person on the waitlist is given the opportunity to add within 48 hours. One of the ways that space opens up in courses is that students do not take action on email sent by PCC to their student email addresses. When students do NOT respond, they're automatically dropped, and voilà! space opens up on the waitlist, you move up, and the process continues until you hopefully get the opportunity to register for the class.
Register for the course using the CRN (as you would for an open class) and you will be to added to the waitlist
Check your waitlist number:
In LancerPoint, go to "Classes and Academics" tab
Click on "Check Registration Status"
Click on "Return to Menu"
Click on "Student Detail Schedule"
Check your Lancer email for a notification that you may add the class.
Tip: Be sure to check your Lancer email (in LancerPoint under Home tab) DAILY to make sure you don't miss the opportunity to add the class.
Add/Activate the class within 48 hours of receiving notification email.
If you miss the 48 hour window, the next student will be contacted. You will no longer be on the waitlist and you must re-add yourself to the waitlist.
Be sure to provide
THE NAME OF THE CLASS YOU WANT TO ADD
for example Fash1A, Fash2, Fash5, etc.
The name of the class is important if an instructor teaches more than one class, they can't know which one you want unless you indicate the name of the class.
THE CRN # FOR THE CLASS YOU WANT TO ADD
The CRN is a five-digit code that is assigned to each section of a course. The CRNs for every section is listed in the Schedule of Classes.
The CRN is especially important when there is more than one section of the class to ensure that you get the section that fits best with your schedule.
YOUR NAME
as it appears in LancerPoint
also include the name that you prefer to be called - it would be really great if you also made the name change official with PCC
PCC ID #
YOUR GO.PASADENA.EDU EMAIL ADDRESS
WHY SHOULD YOU BE ADDED TO THE CLASS? Are you a fashion major? Is this your first semester at PCC or your 1one millionth? Were you on the waitlist? Have you tried to register for the class before? Are you a really awesome addition to the class that the teacher shouldn't pass up the opportunity to experience?
If there is an opportunity to add students beyond those on the official waitlist, some instructors will only add students who have emailed in advance. Some instructors send information about the class before the start of the term.

On the 1st day of the term, PCC typically makes Add Codes available to instructors for each course that they teach.
IF THERE IS SPACE IN THE COURSE, THEN Add Codes are manually issued to students on the waitlist first.
Once Add Codes have been issued to waitlisted students, an if there is still space in the class, then add codes are sent to other students who contacted the instructor requestion permission to add.
Registered students who do not attend all class meetings in their entirety before the last day to add a class may be dropped in order to make room for other students to add the class
PCC policy stipulates that registered students who are late to the first class meeting, leave the first class meeting early, or who are not in attendance for the entire first class session may be dropped from the course.
PCC policy also stipulates that those who are not in attendance for the entire the second class session may be dropped from the course to make space to allow waitlisted students (who are in attendance for the entire first and second meetings) to add the course.
Registered students who wish to remain in the course must participate in the full first class meeting, and submit all work, or they may be dropped so that a waitlisted student who has been in attendance and doing all the work for the first two weeks can add.
Participation in the full first TWO class meetings , and submitting all work does NOT guarantee an add code or a spot in the class to students who wish to add.
Waitlisted students who wish to add the course must participate in the full first TWO class meetings, and submit all work in order to be eligible to add the class if space becomes available.
If there is space, waitlisted students who have been in attendance for the entire first two class meeting, and submitted all work may have an opportunity to add the course.
If space becomes available, eligible waitlisted students who have fully participated in entire class meetings may have an opportunity to add according to the priority assigned by the PCC waitlist.
Participation in the full first TWO class meetings, and submitting all work does NOT guarantee an add code or a spot in the class.
Students who wish to add the course must participate in the full first TWO class meetings, and submit all work in order to be eligible to add the class if space becomes available after all eligible waitlisted students who have fully participated in entire class meetings have been given the opportunity to be added.
If there is space, students who have been in attendance for the entire first two class meetings , and submitted all work may have an opportunity to add the course.
If space becomes available, eligible students who have fully participated in entire class meetings may have the opportunity to add in the order assigned by the instructor (according to the date/order in which students contacted the instructor, based on the instructor's records).
Add codes that are not used in a timely manner will be revoked and offered to another eligible student.
Conversely, the add code you receive may have been previously assigned to another student who did not use the code in a timely manner, but if that code is not valid by the time you go to use it (ie. the instructor thought another student changed their mind and wasn't going to use the code, so she gave it to you, but the other student ended up using the code before you had the chance to type it in), it may not be possible to give another add code because of the limitations of the room size, available functioning equipment, and safety concerns.
Reach out to other teachers about adding a different section of this class and/or other classes this semester,
Go to the dean to make a formal request for another section of the class to be opened this term.
If there are other students who also want to add, go together as a group.
If you are not able to see the dean right away, wait in the division office to speak to someone today, if possible
whether you can wait in the office or not, send the request via email while you are waiting to speak to the dean.
Reach out to your counselor in person and in writing about adding another section of the class to the schedule this semester
Register for the class next term.
