Parents/Guardians:
💢 Remember! YOU are the biggest influence on how your child handles the challenges in life. Be sure to model healthy ways of coping with the stresses and dissapointments in life.
💢 Teach children to pay attention to their bodily cues when feeling upset, because sudden changes in our physical responses often warn us that we're feeling bothered. For example, our hearts may start to beat at a faster pace, we might start feeling warm or hot, our breathing might become more rapid, or we might feel a tightening sensation in our chest. If we can recognize when this is happening, we can take action to emotionally regulate before reacting impulsively.
For Youth and Teens and Adults
Write down some encouraging statements and practice saying them out loud; cut them out and put them all over your house. You could even practice saying your affirmations in front of the mirror while looking yourself in the eyes. The more you BELIEVE it, the better to RECEIVE it!
Some examples could be….
⭐️ I am enough.
⭐️ I get better every single day.
⭐️ I never give up!
⭐️ I keep trying until I get it!
⭐️ I have the power to make MY life the way I want it to be.
⭐️ I deserve to be happy.
⭐️ I am proud of myself everyday.
