Parents/Guardians:
As much as we want to help our child avoid hurtful consequences, we must force ourselves to step back, take a breath, and let them make mistakes. From there, we can pose some guiding questions to help our children refelct on their choices and the resulting consequences they've experienced, such as:
How are you feeling about your choice now?
Who was affected by your choice?
What have you learned from this experience?
Allowing our children to make their own decisions (within consideration of their age and development) can acheive the following: builds their self-confidence, makes them aware that their choices can affect others, and teaches them there are consequences to their choices/actions.
See EECD Provincial School Code of Conduct official definitions of Bullying and Cyberbullying HERE.
Digital Ettiquete, or Netiquette, is an important consideration in today's world. We must use our manners, and be considerate and respectful of others online just as we are in person.

In challenging times especially, we must focus on the things in life that we CAN control, and let go of the things that we cannot control. Right now, we are trying to do our best during a pandemic - COVID-19, which can be stressful and worrisome.
ACTIVITY: Make your own lists of the things that you can control (for example: practicing social distancing) and the things you can't control (for example: when schools will re-open) to focus on what you CAN DO to make a difference.
