The Germantown Education Foundation awards grants for projects that would otherwise go unfunded. In 2019, The Pointe won a grant for $2,039 for the purchase of a giant wall-mount Scrabble board and 10 Official Scrabble Players Dictionaries. Students benefit from Scrabble in the following ways:

-Time management
-Logic to plan ahead
-Math/Spatial concepts
-Rechanneling emotions
-Teamwork/Social Skills
-Meanings of words/Context
-Strategic thinking
-Developing an interest in reading, spelling, vocabulary, and derivatives
-Understanding/Tolerance for others
-Improving writing/sentence formation
-Evaluating the consequences of their actions
-Fostering positive & productive interactions with differing abilities/personality types
