Dear Global Jaya Community,
In speaking with many of our community members recently, a very common theme has emerged: it is hard to believe how quickly the first term of the school year has flown by! We are now just one week away from our term break, and it is wonderful to reflect on how much we have accomplished together. From the high energy of Sportschella and the impressive debates at HawksMUN, to the launch of our vibrant After School Activities (ASAs) and our season 1 sports schedule getting underway, our students have already achieved so many fantastic milestones. Thank you to our entire community for making this fast-paced term such a resounding success!
WWW and Year 5 Camp
During the week of October 5 to 9, our Secondary students will be off campus for the annual WWW trips, and our Year 5 students will take part in their camp trip to Bandung. These trips are designed to achieve many important outcomes: they allow our students time to form long lasting friendships, explore authentic learning opportunities, and develop a sense of independence and responsibility. In both the Primary and the Secondary divisions, the trip leaders have spent time planning for the trips, preparing risk assessments, and meeting with parents, to ensure that our students have a safe and enjoyable experience away from school.
Term Break
The week of October 12 to 16 is Term Break for Global Jaya. This means we do not have school during this week and hope that our students, parents, and teachers use this time to unwind, relax, and enjoy time away from school. Of course, don’t forget that everyone is expected to return to campus on Monday, October 19th for the first day of Term 2.
MSCs
Mid-semester conferences (MSCs) will take place on Thursday, October 22nd and Friday, October 23rd. Please make sure you have signed up to attend these important parent-student-teacher meetings as they offer insight into the achievements and areas of improvements for your children based on their progress so far this academic year. We hope to see all families on campus during MSCs.
Kind regards,
Dr. Howard Menand
