In this article, we will explain about capoeira is all about and why it's so awesome! We'll unleash an explanation about capoeira and learn amazing skills.
Capoeira was super cool because it got our bodies moving and made us stronger. We did all sorts of awesome moves like kicks, spins, and flips. It was like a dance and martial arts combined! Plus, it helped us become more flexible, balanced, and coordinated. We had so much fun showing off our impressive skills.
Capoeira comes from Brazil, a country far away with a rich history. We learned that it started long ago and was connected to African roots. Exploring its cultural background made us more open-minded and respectful of diverse cultures. We loved discovering new traditions and customs from Brazil.
Capoeira wasn't just about doing cool moves by ourselves. We got to play in a circle called a "roda" with other students. This is where the teamwork came in! We took turns playing and interacting with each other, just like a team. We learned to respect and support our friends while having a blast together.
As we practiced Capoeira, we noticed ourselves getting better and better. It took practice, patience, and determination. When we saw our progress, it boosted our self-confidence and made us feel proud of ourselves. Capoeira taught us that hard work paid off, and we could achieve amazing things with practice.
In conclusion, we had a fun and exciting adventure with capoeira in our P.E. class! We got fit, learned about Brazilian culture, worked as a team, and grew personally. Capoeira was more than just a physical activity; it was a chance to explore new things and develop important skills. We embraced this incredible journey together and discovered the amazing world of capoeira!

This is an article about our mini-expo for our 6th Unit, under Where We Are In Place and Time. The Central Idea for this Unit is, “The historical experiences of society reveal patterns of continuity and change.”
The Lines of Inquiry are:
Individuals who are remembered for inspiring or implementing change
Values and beliefs of the periods in which they took place
Changes in society over time
The Process!
We chose a historical figure that we were interested in and researched about them. We wrote notes in our own words. With the information we have gained from reliable sources, we made our outline for our biography & timeline. Then, after that we finished the outline for our biography. Once we finished, we made the rough draft for the biography, timeline, & timetable. Then the teachers checked the rough draft and gave feedback. Then we made the final draft. For our final draft, we added final touches to our rough draft and once we finished we printed our tasks and added them to our poster for the expo.
The Experience
During the expo, there were many booths. Each booth was occupied by a student & their historical figure. Students had to prepare their posters for the bamboo dividers. When the mini expo began there were many visitors from different year levels. Teachers and parents could also visit the expo. When a visitor went to our booth, we would explain & present to them our chosen figure. We were allowed to dress as our figures and present from a 1st person's perspective or a 3rd person's perspective. When presenting, we had to present with our knowledge of the figure and we could also add additional information that we would like to explain. In the end, visitors gave feedback on our presentation.
Conclusion.
The mini-expo was very informative and exciting. It provided us with a lot of interesting information and a lot of interesting characters, which we all shared during the mini-expo. In conclusion, the experience was a lot of fun. Overall, the mini-expo and everything was very interesting and informative. We hope that many people enjoyed it as much as we did, and it was a very great experience. From this experience, we gained a lot of knowledge about not just our figures, but also our friend's figures.
During this expo, we developed self-management skills, independence skills, communication & research skills. We also demonstrated being knowledgeable because we were able to present our historical figures with our knowledge.
What is SEL camp?
SEL camp, or social-emotional learning camp, is a camp that the Year 5 had on 11-12 May 2023 to learn about social-emotional learning. Those who took part in the camping were grade 5 students from Global Jaya and our teachers. We had our SEL camp at Cibalung Happyland in Bogor. We arrived there using a bus. We were split into groups of three. Once we arrived, we were assigned our tents and we put our bags inside our tents.
Why did we do this camp?
We did this camp to learn about SEL. SEL or social-emotional learning is the solution to the problems that we have related to our social and emotional health. There are many topics related to this. Such as, self-awareness, self management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. There were solutions to improving our health, if we wanted to have a good and balanced well-being. We also did this to improve our 6 dimensions of health. Our social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, mental, and physical health.
What were some activities we did there?
Three large groups were formed of us, led by Ibu Endang, Pak Rully, and Pak Nick. We were required to divide into groups and complete various tasks. We did a pair game where we had to collect balls while wearing blindfolds or where the floor is lava and we must traverse it. We were all so autonomous and risk-takers because we followed the rules and were open-minded.
