Science
Science
All students will be studying AQA GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Students in group 1 will be examined by triple science. This is three separate GCSE qualifications.
Students in others groups will be examined by combined science. This is two qualifications, the exams a slightly shorter and have a little less expected content.
Students are able to do Higher (Grades 9-3) or Foundation (Grades 5-1) tier papers.
Science is examined by terminal exams only although each subject has certain ‘Required Practicals’ that will be completed during lessons and may be recalled in the exams whilst embedding skills and knowledge.
In year 11 each student will sit 6 exams, 2 for each science.
