PRIMARY AND SECONDARY COLOURS

Dear Year One,

I hope that you are all well! We are going to continue with our investigations of Secondary Colours!

  • As I know you love singing, I thought that we could start by listening to this Secondary Colour song!

  • Parents/Carers, please LOOK AT POWERPOINT and read through with children. Can you remember when Mrs Magic Money visited our class last week and we had fun creating new colours? Let's revise those colour mixes again and tell our parents what we learnt!

  • COLOUR SUMS: This week, you are going to record those colours as Colour Sums. Can you put on your thinking hats and remember the mixes we made? Can you say the sums out loud in French and then as many different languages as possible?! If parents could print out this sheet for children to do, great - otherwise they can copy the information into their Home Learning books or paper.

  • After this, I'd like you to draw your bedroom or a toy and colour it using only the secondary colours!

  • As an extension and, if your parents are happy for you do this, why not create a colour wheel using objects found around the house? (See photograph below.)

Send me any photographs your parents manage to take!

I hope you enjoy this activity and I look forward to seeing you again soon,

Ms M X
